Will you take a lie detector test in front of an audience?
Award-winning social experiment TRUTHMACHINE uses biometric sensors and live voting systems to seek out truth in a world of fake news and alternative facts.
Put yourself to the test in this adventurous, intimate and playful melding of bold new technology with live performance, inspired by art history and the true crime genre.
A volunteer from the audience has their heart rate, breathing patterns and skin responses measured by a polygraph, and converted into an intricate symphony of light and sound, while the interrogator probes for the truth…whatever that may be.
Technological troublemakers Counterpilot are renowned for placing audiences at the centre of unique, high-tech experiences. "It’s part theatre, part social experiment," says director Nathan Sibthorpe.
"Twelve people enter the room. We have no idea how they’re going to react. Our questions might be prepared in advance, but it’s impossible for us to predict our audience’s responses; whether they be true confessions, complete lies or something in between. The energy in the room is alive and responsive… we can never run the same show twice."
