Established
in 1871, the Art Gallery of NSW is the leading museum of art in New South Wales
and one of Australia's foremost cultural institutions. The Gallery showcases
international and Australian art in one of the most beautiful art museums in
the world and aims to be a place of experience and inspiration, through their
collection, exhibitions, programs and research.
All public areas inside the building can be accessed by ramps and lifts (as well as stairs and elevators).
A permanent access ramp provides an alternative to the external stairs at the main entrance to the Gallery.
A ramp is positioned on the inside stairs and a Gallery staff member is available for assistance if required. Another wheelchair-accessible access entrance/exit is provided at the rear of the Gallery. A limited number of wheelchairs and mobility scooters are available for use.
There are four dedicated accessible parking spaces: two at the front of the Gallery and two at the rear. Domain Car Park station has a lift and offers discounted parking to Gallery visitors Mon-Fri.
